IC 4604 - Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex

IC 4604 - Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex

This image of the Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex was the "first light" image for my FLI Proline 11002 camera. I think this is probably one of the most beautiful and color parts of the sky.

IC 434 & NGC 2024 - The Horsehead and Flame Nebulas

IC 434 & NGC 2024 - The Horsehead and Flame Nebulas

This is one of three objects I imaged while at the 2013 Winter Star Party in the Florida Keys.

The Horsehead nebula is an extremely popular nebula in the constellation Orion.

Also in the FOV is NGC2024 which is known as the Flame nebula and two of three stars in Orion’s belt.

I hope to create a mosaic of this entire area and I think this is a good start.

M 45 - The Seven Sisters

M 45 - The Seven Sisters

This is one of three objects I imaged while at the 2013 Winter Star Party in the Florida Keys.

The Seven Sisters, also know as The Pleiades is an extremely popular open star cluster that graces our winter skies.

I think this is a beautiful object and I really enjoy imaging it.

Every time I image it I see more details and faint stuff. I’m really looking forward to gathering more data on this.

IC 405 - The Flame Nebula in HA

IC 405 - The Flame Nebula in HA

This image is composed of six hours of exposure using an HA filter from my backyard in South West Miami-Dade. This image was taken with an FSQ-EDXII @F/5.

IC 5070 - The Pelican Nebula

IC 5070 - The Pelican Nebula

This was "first light" for my (then) new Starlight Xpress SXVF-H9.

I captured this image from my heavily light polluted backyard in heavy moonlight.

At the time I did not have a filter wheel so I used a 2” Baader 35nm (pretty wide) HA filter where I would have put my LPS filter when using the H9C.

M 16 - The Eagle Nebula

M 16 - The Eagle Nebula

This is a single 15 minute sub-exposure I took using a Starlight Xpress SXVF-H9. Great little camera as you can tell.

M 8 - The Lagoon Nebula

M 8 - The Lagoon Nebula

Another image taken with my trustee Starlight Xpress SXVF-H9. The Lagoon Nebula was the first deep sky object I ever tried to image so it's a special object to me.

NGC 6992 - The Eastern Veil in HST

This image is of NGC 6992 which is The Eastern Veil. It is part of a larger structure known as the Veil Complex. This image is in the Hubble Space Telescope Palette and was taken using a scope rented out by Lightbuckets in 2009.

M 45 - The Seven Sisters

This an image of The Seven Sisters which is also known as The Pleiades. I took from my heavily light polluted backyard using a Takahashi FSQ-106EDXII @F/3.6. I was actually pretty impressed with how well it came out.

NGC 6888 - in Bi-Color HA and OIII

NGC 6888 - in Bi-Color HA and OIII

This image of NGC 6888 The Crescent Nebula was taken with a 24" RCOS telescope that we rented time on from Lightbuckets out of Rodeo New Mexico. The picture is a bi-color image made up of Hydrogen Alpha (HA) and Oxygen III (OIII) sub-exposures.

M 104 - The Sombrero Galaxy

M 104 - The Sombrero Galaxy

This is one of three objects I imaged while at the 2013 Winter Star Party in the Florida Keys.

I really like this object a lot and when I get a  long focal length scope I will definitely put in some serious time on this.

I was very happy with how this came out in the wide FOV. I was originally going to crop it but when I looked at the original version I loved all the faint and fuzzy galaxies that where littered throughout the image. It was for that reason I decided to post the full non-cropped version.

NGC 5128 - Centaurus A

NGC 5128 - Centaurus A

This image was taken using a scope that we rented from Lightbucks in Pingelly Australia. Unfortunately the color data was unusable so what we have here is a result of the data from the clear filter.
